Little Blue

To my mother, Rose Paley:

In the early part of the twentieth century, dyslexia was not known. My mother’s difficulty with forming letters and numbers was attributed to her being left-handed. She learned to write a passable signature. Her numbers were better, so she could keep the score at her bridge and canasta games. She was the first one to laugh at her funny lopsided writing. She made sure I had lots of books to read. Thank you, Mom.
